PART 4 - The Trailer, preparation

Updated: Aug 11, 2023

It is generally not a secret that film trailers are created mostly from existing film footage. But since there was no footage, the trailer had to be built based on ideas, borrowing shots and camera angles from movies and game footage. This took months to put together, taking screenshot after screenshot and putting them in some sort of order.

And then there was the tiny challenge of putting together a film cast and crew without funding. With help from several sources, we were able to drum together a crew of 50 film professionals and around a dozen actors and extras willing to display their acting chops.

The pacing was relentless. Every free minute I spent meeting filmmakers and actors. A horseback ranch in northern Berlin were happy to provide the space to practice fights and shots and some of them even volunteered as extras. My mother happily provided the catering and costume design. A potential investor from Argentina offered to provide some funds for the expenses (food, drinks and rental of film equipment). We scouted and secured the locations (mostly in a small forest near the horseback ranch).
